Ashton Vale Primary's Active Playground Zone

One magnificent active playground environment

Our South Managing Director, James Collis-Pritchard, worked in partnership with Ashton Vale Primary School to develop a fun and energetic active playground environment.

The school wanted to add climbing and traversing challenges that would excite the children and develop their strength and fundamental movement skills.

James measured the area and used his expertise to design and create a life changing space for the staff and children.

Before our development, the play space had been there for over 10 years and the playground equipment on display was clearly not fit for purpose.

The entire area was beginning to feel dull and uninspiring. Having lost its aesthetic appeal, it needed bringing back to life with colour and exciting active resources that would create a buzz amongst the children.

With industry leading guarantees and 20 years of experience, we create active play environments that keep children actively and mentally challenged for many years to come.

To create an inviting and all-weather play environment, we installed our natural looking artificial grass with a shockpad underlayer to protect children from falls and injuries.

We installed the surfacing level to the playground to enable safe free-flow access from the surrounding area.

James designed the space to provide scope for the play equipment whilst leaving a large space in the middle for the children to use as a cross-between different items as well as an area for free play.

We installed our Apollo Challenger which is our largest climbing frame featuring 16 different challenges for the children to overcome. The combination of equipment makes this challenge a group one, encouraging cooperation, competition and teamwork.

Children will naturally push themselves and their friends to complete each of the 16 challenges, naturally developing their upper and lower body strength, balance, core stability, hand strength and fine motor skills.  Apollo Challenger by Pentagon Play

Nearby to the Apollo Challenger, we installed two sets of Pull Up Bars which are ideal for developing children's upper body strength, core stability and grip and grasp technique.

We also installed our Log and Net Climber to provide the children with a summit climbing challenge and crossing.
