Reports to - Manufacturing Operations Manager

 

We have an opportunity for a Production Planner to join our growing team.

We need a dynamic, multi-skilled individual to work in our operations department alongside our Warehouse and Workshop Supervisors to deliver exciting playground installation projects.

How will you support us?

 

The roles and responsibilities of this position are detailed below and include, carrying out ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by the Production Operations Manager, as well as collaborating with Sales, Design, Products, and Accounts to ensure a smooth ruining and cost-effective Warehouse and Workshop.

Stock Management

  • Ordering raw materials for stock, production and delivery to various sites
  • Coordinating daily stock audits with the Warehouse and Workshop Supervisors
  • Investigating and rectifying any issues with stock levels when identified in the audits
  • Communicating weekly stock level results to the Production Operations Manager
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding returns and/or missed delivery queries
  • Maintaining the company supplier list and costs
  • Negotiating costs with suppliers to ensure the best value for money
  • Ensuring invoices are correct and amending purchase orders to eliminate late payments to suppliers

Planning and Scheduling

  • Ensuring that incoming deliveries are managed and stored appropriately
  • Inputting data on the company’s web-based CRM system
  • Scheduling dispatches efficiently in order to avoid carriage charges
  • Ensuring that all products are picked and loaded accurately

Labour Management

  • Coordinating and communicating daily dispatch lists
  • Assigning workflow daily according to the dispatch list
  • Consolidating the payroll daily

  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Skilled in building relationships and managing the expectations of various stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of Lean Stock Management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proven record of showing initiative
  • A proven record of working to set programs and deadlines
  • Knowledge of the education sector
  • Experience in manufacturing
