Ideal for supporting early STEM learning the award-winning Millhouse Sand and Water Play Station is suitable for ages 2y+. The station offers opportunities for children to explore, discover and predict during play. When playing with water children will experiment with scooping and pouring, quickly progressing to pouring with accuracy without letting containers overflow. Made from high-quality birch plywood and treated with a protective coating this hard-wearing piece also comes with a reassuring 5-year guarantee. Two wheels at one end of the station allow for easy transportation whether being used in the indoor or outdoor classroom. The durable, polycarbonate tray is also fitted with a screw-on bung for ease of emptying. Having two Stations would allow both wet and dry sand to be explored. Children will be able to scoop, pour and sift dry sand and also observe the changes that occur when sand is mixed with water. Hands-on experiences nurture a sense of curiosity and a foundation for scientific inquiry. There is room underneath the station for children to collect their own resources and the station also includes a wooden lid which can be placed on top of the tray, creating a different play surface. This versatile, innovative piece allows young children to explore important concepts such as filling and pouring, floating and sinking and absorption. One day children could be exploring a pond set up, washing dolls clothes or playing with boats! Exploring and experimenting with sand and water is a key fascination for many children and will be continually revisited during provision.
