The Step Rope Traverse is all about gaining climbing confidence. It’s based on a low-level tightrope challenge, close enough to the ground that children can step up and down easily and feel safe. Fixed, reinforced ropes along the way give the children something to hold onto as they gain their balance - simultaneously strengthening their fine motor skills as they grip, hold, hang and pull themselves along. These rope-holds split in two directions where they join the tightrope, creating gaps for little feet to step in-between. As their confidence grows, they’ll soon start to speed up, hanging one-handed from the rope-holds, shimmying up and down them, twisting and weaving between them and reaching out for their friends to join in! An excellent activity for developing good hand/eye/foot coordination, balance, core strength and stability.
