Special Needs Outdoor Playground Equipment
Our dedicated products team have consulted with SEN experts, teachers and children to design and perfect a fantastic selection of SEN Playground Equipment. With the intention to help children with special educational needs feel comfortable during a school day, the feedback from the children themselves has been invaluable!
As many children find free-flow, open-ended, physical play activities therapeutic, we have designed a brilliant range of playground equipment to provide children with regulatory, heavy work activities and breakout spaces in their playground.
Promoting self-regulation and providing therapeutic activities in the playground is important for any school catering towards children with SEN as they begin to understand how and when to calm themselves, recognising when they are becoming frustrated, overwhelmed or unfocused, children are able refocus themselves and become centred and ready for learning.
Designed with inclusivity in mind, our outdoor play equipment enables children of different abilities and ages to play and learn together, encouraging cooperation and socialisation in the playground.
Our expert SEN playground consultants are enthusiastic and dedicated to helping your transform your outdoor space to benefit your children. Working in collaboration with you and your children, they can help design and install an area that will improve children’s behavioural traits, emotional feelings, memory, sensory processing, communication, imagination, social interaction and sustained concentration.
Pentagon Play’s playground equipment for children with special educational needs is unlike anything else currently offered on the market and we are dedicated to continuously expanding the range and adapting our products to ensure they can be fully utilised by your children, no matter their ability. We love receiving feedback on our products and designs to help shape and perfect our range!

Wanted to drop you an email to say how much we love our new playground area. The guys have worked really hard and done a fantastic job, even in awful weather conditions. We are very impressed. They have been polite, helpful and tidy, which has made things so much easier for us.
It is look amazing and the children’s eyes have been wide all week watching it take shape. We would love you to come and visit us and see for yourself, meet the children and have some photos taken with us. We are planning and official ‘opening’ sometime next week!
Lisa Hughes - Westminster Community Primary School, Ellesmere Port

Mark Bradbury - Abbeywood School, Yorkshire
Every day is a fun day of learning, so pleased with our outdoor area. Recommend Pentagon 100%.
Rebecca Johnson - Fernvale Primary School, Leicestershire
We found Pentagons representative Marion to be very informative and imaginative. She was able to look at our available space and resources and come up with ingenious suggestions for their use. The school was able, with her help, to save money in some areas allowing the purchase of our Trim Trail to go ahead sooner than planned. The installation was smooth and the fitters very child-friendly encouraging the children to see the installation at all stages and explaining what was involved.
Sue Gee - Ilketshall St Lawrence Primary School, Beccles
The children are keen and excited to go outside, they play imaginatively in the mud kitchen area, they love climbing, jumping and creating obstacle courses with the large blocks - and it’s super to see them developing their balance and core strength and exploring different ways to move and jump, which all helps with developing their gross motor skills for things like writing. They also have to challenge themselves to both analyse and to take risks. They love the climbing wall and again this builds muscle strength and is important for developing their fine and gross motor ability. The artificial grass has completely changed the appearance of the area and it means the outdoor area looks more tidy and with more appealing. It makes the whole area an outdoor space that reflects our approach to outdoor learning at BCS - it is welcoming yet still natural. The different areas are clearly defined encouraging independence and they support learning across the Early Years curriculum
