Special Needs Outdoor Playground Equipment
Our dedicated products team have consulted with SEN experts, teachers and children to design and perfect a fantastic selection of SEN Playground Equipment. With the intention to help children with special educational needs feel comfortable during a school day, the feedback from the children themselves has been invaluable!
As many children find free-flow, open-ended, physical play activities therapeutic, we have designed a brilliant range of playground equipment to provide children with regulatory, heavy work activities and breakout spaces in their playground.
Promoting self-regulation and providing therapeutic activities in the playground is important for any school catering towards children with SEN as they begin to understand how and when to calm themselves, recognising when they are becoming frustrated, overwhelmed or unfocused, children are able refocus themselves and become centred and ready for learning.
Designed with inclusivity in mind, our outdoor play equipment enables children of different abilities and ages to play and learn together, encouraging cooperation and socialisation in the playground.
Our expert SEN playground consultants are enthusiastic and dedicated to helping your transform your outdoor space to benefit your children. Working in collaboration with you and your children, they can help design and install an area that will improve children’s behavioural traits, emotional feelings, memory, sensory processing, communication, imagination, social interaction and sustained concentration.
Pentagon Play’s playground equipment for children with special educational needs is unlike anything else currently offered on the market and we are dedicated to continuously expanding the range and adapting our products to ensure they can be fully utilised by your children, no matter their ability. We love receiving feedback on our products and designs to help shape and perfect our range!

The service from Pentagon from the original assessment and conversation was very knowledgeable especially about EYFS. Mike was aware of the needs of the children and the staff and had a very open view when it came to the solution. The workers were superb, very aware of school policies such as safeguarding. They were lovely to work with and great throughout. The work undertaken by Pentagon was First Class and we have had visitors and parents alike comment on how amazing the area looks.Catherine Lee - Greenfield Primary School, Walsall

The children really enjoy using our new trike track. Regular use of this area will support their gross motor skills in order to strengthen their whole bodies. The area is also supporting the children’s use of turn taking and has allowed them to take balanced risks, all which help with self-esteem and self-confidence which are valuable life long skills.Cranford Primary School, Northamptonshire
The experience has been extremely positive from start to finish. Communication throughout meant that our requirements were fully listened to and addressed and even when unexpected challenges (the discovery of a very large air raid shelter!) came up during the excavation of grounds at the initial stage, Rachel attended within a couple of days and worked quickly and effectively to resolve the matter meaning that we still got the fantastic area which we set out to achieve.Grove Park School, East Sussex
The installers were brilliant - so friendly and knowledgeable and have done a first class job. Our health club member feedback has been amazing too!Ed Lindley-Hare – Beechdown Health Club, Basingstoke
The children love it and we've even set up a gardening club tasked with developing the area further and maintaining it. We'd like to thank Pentagon for installing this fantastic addition to our playground and for providing oxygenated plants and fish for the pond. The next steps for the gardening club, is to plant vegetables in one corner and a 'minibeast' hotel in the otherJeremy Hughes - West Town lane Academy, Bristol
